Pumpkin Carving
We're loving Halloween in Shells this year... we have already been to two Fancy Dress Parties and one more to go. In amongst the madness we threw a Pumpkin Carving Night in Shells. This one is for adults, involves lots of wine and of course a bit of healthy competition! With a bottle of Prosecco up for grabs for the winning pumpkin.

It's cool to get a load of friends round and do the same.
Buy a few pumpkins, then you will need some markers, stencils, candles, sharp knives lots of paper and containers for the pumpkin insides! Don't forget Halloween themed music, Thriller and Ghostbusters are a must!
Lay the paper down on the table as this gets messy!
Best way is to take the top off first so you can access the inside. We also recommend a few holes in the back to allow oxygen in to keep the candles burning.

We had a full house, with lots of pumpkin delights from pumpkin broth (see pg 154 of the book), pumpkin pancakes with creme fraiche and walnuts and of course some pumpkin pie!
The deserving winner was Julian Rippon, needless to say there were a few disappointed carvers out there!
